Iolani Palace

This elegant structure was the royal residence from 1845 to 1897. Even though the American Florentine structure is distinctly influenced by European architecture, the style and design are unique to Hawaii and not to be found anywhere else in the world. Now a museum, the palace is a wealth of information about Hawaii and her people before becoming a state in the union.
